Club History

The North Coast Speedskating Club was formerly known as the Brooklyn Speedskating Club.  We are a growing Short Track club that dates back more than twenty years.  During that time, many Olympic caliber skaters have emerged from the club.  Our current home ice rink is Iceland USA located in Strongsville Ohio.  Iceland USA is a new facility with two 85' x 200' sheets of high quality ice.  Our club includes and welcomes both children and adult skaters from beginner ability levels through National caliber skating levels.  Our coach has over 30 years of short track speedskating experience, is still involved in active competition at the National level, and provides coaching that is of an unsurpassed quality in Ohio.  Expert coaching is provided to all of our club skaters.  We specialize in coaching adult skaters and have many Master (aged 30 & over) skaters among our ranks.  Speedskating is also a wonderful family sport.  We offer special rates for families with 2 or more skaters on the ice.  Speedskating is a fun & challenging sport for people of all ages.  Come on - What are you waiting for?  See you on the ice!
