NEW SKATERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME - Come give it a try!

The 2007 - 2008 Season Ice Practices have begun !  Check the practice page for details!

*Please note - new skaters must be able to skate unassisted in order to attend our ice sessions.

New skaters should arrive to ice practices with the following required equipment:

• Skates ** -    (see below)

• Helmet  -        a bike or rollerblade helmet will work fine

• Knee pads -   volleyball type pads work well, rollerblade pads will work also

• Shin guards -  soccer type guards will work

• Full-fingered gloves -  all fingers must be fully covered

• Long sleeves & Long Pants -  stretch or sweat pants which allow free bending & movement are best.  All skin must be covered

• Also bring a water or sports drink

• All skaters under 18 years of age must bring a parent or legal guardian (parents are not required to skate, but are welcome to try us out too!).  All new skaters - Please go to the "new skater forms" page, print the waiver & contact sheets, fill them out with the skater's info., and bring them to your first session. 

• All skaters will be required to sign a waiver and purchase a USSpeedskating "one day" membership at a cost of $1.00 before skating their first session. 

• New skaters should arrive 45 minutes before scheduled ice time to sign forms, review safety procedures & stretch with club members before ice practice begins.

• Skaters will also be required to purchase & wear a bib-style neck guard after the first session.

**  Any type of skates can be worn to begin speedskating.  Figure & hockey skates are available for rental from the rink lobby on a per session basis.  We will help you get outfitted with speedskates if you are interested.

NO SKATER WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE ICE WITHOUT ALL OF THE PROPER  REQUIRED SAFETY GEAR!   NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE - THE SAFETY OF ALL OUR SKATERS IS OUR TOP PRIORITY !  (please note - no refunds will be issued for sessions forfeited due to missing safety gear or failure to follow safety regulations).
